Performative Building Skins
Elective Graduate Course, Spring 2022
In an era where environmental responsiveness and climate adaptability have become paramount in architecture, Performative Building Skins explores the design of façades that can adapt to changing environmental conditions. This course synthesizes knowledge of climate adaptation, material behavior, and digital design tools, pushing students to develop façades that are not only performative but aesthetically and structurally viable. Through hands-on exercises and advanced parametric tools like Rhino and Grasshopper, students will conceptualize, design, and prototype dynamic skins that respond to environmental forces.
